An exciting option in employee benefits is the Flexible Benefit Plan.  Flexible Benefit Plans are commonly referred to as "Cafeteria" or "Section 125" Plans.  Traditionally, employee benefit plans have been designed to give everyone in the group identical coverage, but individual needs are different.  Our benefit specialists can help you develop a Flexible Benefit Plan which can assist in meeting the individual needs of your employees. Consider some of the advantages of Cafeteria benefits:
  • Employees can select from a variety of benefits.
  • Employees can choose how their benefit dollars are allocated.
  • Both employees and the employer save dollars because employees pay for their benefits with pretax dollars.
  • Flex Plans enhance your employees' appreciation for their benefit dollars, because they get to choose which benefits they value the most!

Let us help you design a new Flex Plan or improve your current one.  Our consulting services include:

  • Assessing company objectives and employee needs.
  • Reviewing current benefits and their associated costs.
  • Communicating benefits to employees.
  • Providing plan enrollment services.
  • Annual testing of nondiscrimination rules.
  • Annual governmental reporting.
  • Each employer who subscribes to a trust has the option of establishing a Section 125 Flexible Benefit Plan. We accumulate 125 plan information regarding eligibility for benefits, key and non-key employees, the amount of contributions made by employees and employers for each coverage, and store this information. An employer who elects the 125 program thereby provides us with all data necessary to perform the discrimination calculation specified under Section 125 of the Code, as well as information required to complete his 5500 filing. The 5500 filing is required for each 125 plan, regardless of the number of employees covered.

We believe this comprehensive approach to addressing the Employee Welfare Benefit Plan places the association in a uniquely advantageous posture in the marketplace. As a result it makes replacement of association trust products and services much more difficult and creates a much more stable and cohesive program that will benefit the greatest number of association members.
